About Cash Games
Cash games, also known as ring games, refer to a style of gameplay where each chip has a corresponding cash value.
Cash games allow players the ultimate flexibility, as they can buy in, rebuy (purchase more chips while playing), and cash out of the game at any time.
Players join a cash game by purchasing chips for a certain amount of money. The amount can vary, and different tables may have different minimum and maximum buy-ins.
Our players can select from two different cash game formats:
- No Limit Hold'em (NLHE)
- Pot Limit Omaha (PLO)
Cash game tables will start with three players.
Cash Game Stakes and Rake
Rake is a fee that BetRivers Poker obtains for hosting the game. Rake is only taken from pots that end post-flop. Rake is never taken from pots that end before the flop. The amount taken in rake is calculated as a percentage of the total pot value with a cap.
Please see the table below for full details on rake, including the percentage amount, and cap variants depending on the game, stakes, and the number of players dealt into the hand as per the table below.

Buying into a Cash Game
The buy-in process for cash games is simple - we want you to be able to Just Play.
Currently, we offer 6-handed cash games for No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha.
Follow these instructions:
- Open the software, and login.
- From the poker lobby, select the "Cash Games" game type from the upper menu.
- Select the variant you would like to play: NLHE or PLO
- Select the stake you would like to play. Note: Buy-ins are fixed at 100 big blinds to help encourage fairer games.
- In the buy-in screen: Use the "+" and "-" buttons to increase or decrease the number of tables you wish to join, and press the "Buy-in for $x" button to start up the tables.
Please note:
To help encourage fairer games, the maximum number of tables is set to:
- On your PC/Mac = 8
- On your mobile phone = 4
You will then be automatically seated at your chosen number of tables. If there are no seats available, then you will be seated at a "waiting table" while you wait, and subsequently seated at a table as soon as a seat is available or 2 other players join a waiting table and a new table is created.
That's it! If you need a refresher of the rules check our How To Play section.
